In Origine choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui creates an intimate atmosphere with four dancers. He chose these dancers to give form to the four points of the compass which also seem to determine the great cultural relationships: north versus south and east versus west.

Icelandic fairy stories, Japanese robotics, American consumption, African soil. In addition to these four elements, there is a wooden doll, the fifth element which connects or transforms. All this is encompassed by two female voices, one Arabic (Fadia Tomb El-Hage), and one Scandinavian (Miriam Andersén), whose repertoire has links with (among other things) the mystic songs of Hildegard von Bingen.
