Sébastien Droy
After studying musicology at the Sorbonne University and after graduating from the Paris National Conservatoire or Music, Sébastien Droy made acclaimed debuts in the Mozart repertoire: Don Ottavio from Don Giovanni, Ferrando from Cosí fan tutte, Idamante from Idomeneo, Belmonte from Die Entführung aus dem Serail, Tamino from Die Zauberflöte and Agenore from Il Re Pastore.
His repertoire goes from baroque pieces (Adonis from Vénus et Adonis by Desmarest, Pylade from Iphigénie en Tauride, Artémidore and Le Chevalier Danois from Armide by Gluck, Tom Jones from Philidor’s eponym opera) to 19th century music (Almaviva from Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Pâris from La Belle Hélène, Fritz from La Grande Duchesse de Gerolstein, Orphée from Orphée et Eurydice, Alfred from Die Fledermaus, Bénédict from Béatrice et Bénédict, Andreloun from Mireille, Tybalt from Roméo et Juliette, Baucis from Gounod’s Philémon et Baucis, Lensky from Evgeny Onegin, Fenton from Falstaff, Cassio from Otello, Alfredo from La Traviata, Nadir from Les Pêcheurs de Perles) and also 20th century operas (Le Chevalier de la Force from Dialogues des Carmélites, Tom Rakewell from The Rake's Progress, Sou-Chong from Das Land des Lächelns).
In the concert field, the sang Bach’s B-Mass and Johannes Passion, Haendel’s Messiah, Mozart’s Requiem and C-Mass, Dvorak’s D-Mass, Schumann’s Es-Mass, Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle, Stabat Mater and Messa di Gloria, Berlioz’s L’Enfance du Christ, La Damnation de Faust, La Grande Messe des Morts, Britten’s Illuminations.
