Jean Michel Sinisterra Munoz
Jean Michel Sinisterra Munoz was born in Bogotá, Colombia in 1984, and moved to Italy early in his childhood. He was educated in ballet at the Teatro Nuovo Di Torino and the Central School of Ballet in London, but turned to contemporary dance under the influence of Richard Wherlock and Patrick Delcroix. His hyperkinetic and adventurous nature led him to perform in the most diverse environments, whether it be in stripclubs in Miami or as a freestyle mixology bartender in London, before his breakthrough in major international dance companies.
From 2010 to 2015 Jean Michel worked with Oper Graz Tanzkompanie. In 2015 he joined GöteborgsOperans Danskompani, under the directorship of Adolphe Binder, for four seasons. He performed dance works by choreographers Damien Jalet, Ohad Naharin, Alan Lucien Øyen and Marcos Morau. He worked with Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui for the first time during this period, performing in Noetic and Icon. The more theatrical works by Cherkaoui and Øyen rekindled Jean Michel’s already existing passion for acting, and under the mentorship of actor and pedagogue Peter Melin, he reoriented his career towards movies and television. Since 2019, he has played in several international short films and in a series on SkyTV. In 2024 he appeared as a stuntman alongside Scott Eastwood in James Kent’s thriller Stolen Girl.
