Christina Guieb
Christina Guieb was born in Wellington, New Zealand, where she started training in ballet and jazz at the age of 4. She graduated as a contemporary dance major at the New Zealand School of Dance in 2017.
In 2018, she began freelancing between New Zealand and Australia. Over the years she has performed with House of Sand (Fear of Eggs), New Zealand Dance Company (Stephanie Lake’s If Ever Was Now and Ross McCormack’s Matter and Artefact), Ross McCormack/Muscle Mouth (As It Stands), Daniel Belton/Good Company Arts (Ad Parnassum and PEPE) and Chunky Move (Token Armies).
Christina began working in Europe in 2019, performing in Damien Jalet’s works such as the music short film Anima, in collaboration with Thom Yorke/Paul Thomas Anderson and DuEls, a live performance (2020) and film (2022) directed by Jonas Åkerlund, in collaboration with Nagelhus Schia Productions. In 2021, she performed in Planet [wanderer], by Damien Jalet/Nawa Kohei and produced by Chaillot - Théâtre National de la Danse.
Christina moved to Antwerp in 2022, where she started working with Opera Ballet Vlaanderen. There she has performed in pieces such as Futur Proche by Jan Martens, Extant by Jermaine Spivey, Satyagraha by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Petrushka by Ella Rothschild and Ombra by Alain Platel.
In 2022, Christina performed her first work with Eastman, in the second cast of 3S.
