Leif Federico Firnhaber
Leif Federico Firnhaber was born in 1987 in Paraguay and is German by nationality. He currently lives in Belgium.
At the age of 15 he started dancing intensively on the streets. After a few years of competition, workshops and shows he enters a professional contemporary dance company on the Canary Islands (Natalia Medina). After that he works and studies for two years in Madrid, where he encounters the work of various outstanding choreographers like Carmen Werner, Teresa Nieto, Damian Muñoz, etc. Although he studied at the main dance insititutions of Madrid (Conservatorio Profesional de Danza & Conservatorio Superior de Danza) his formal academic studies remained unfished due to his choice of freelance education and direct working experience.
In Belgium he got involved in projects with David Zambrano, Vlaamse Opera, Michelle Anne de Mey & Charleroi-Danses. He also toured his own work No Performance in collaboration with Victoria Perez Miranda.
After doing a social project called Trasdanza, in direct collaboration with Spanish choreographers and educational institutions in Madrid his interest in teaching remained strong. He gave classes and workshops in Belgium, Brazil and Germany. Leif Firnhaber started working with Eastman in 2011, replacing one of the dancers in Babel (words). He also dances in Puz/zle.
