Shintaro Oue
Born in Kyoto in 1975, Shintaro Oue began studying classical ballet in his hometown. In 1992 he moved to Europe to attend the Hamburg Ballet School (John Neumeier) and in 1994 he joined the Hamburg Ballet Company. Three years later, he joined NDT II in The Hague. Since 1999 Shintaro has been working as a freelance dancer and choreographer, mainly in Holland, Japan, Israel and Sweden. In 2002 he moved to Stockholm and from 2003 to 2006 he was part of the Cullberg Ballet. During this time he created several works and won the Hannover International Choreography Competition 2005 and the Prix de Scandinavia 2005 in the Kuopio Dance Festival. In 2008 he founded C/Ompany in Japan and Sweden. He collaborated with Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui on TeZukA (2011), Shell Shock (2014), Les Indes Galantes (2016) and Satyagraha (2017).
