Christine Leboutte
Born and living in Brussels, Christine Leboutte got her diploma in Theatre/Animation Culturelle in 1982 at the INSAS, Brussels. She was trained in classical singing by Paule Daloze. In 1991 she met Giovanna Marini with whom she discovered the repertory of oral tradition and began to specialize in that field. She sang four of Giovanna Marini’s works: Oresteia, La Bague magique, Le Journal d’Eve and Theoreme. With the Corsican group A Cumpagnia she recorded the Missa Defunctorum by Evelyne Andreani (1997).
She also worked for a few years with CREAHM (Creativity and mental handicap) and Bruxelles-Babel 2000 (an art festival with young people).
Since 2000, she has taken part in the work of choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and performed in Foi, Tempus Fugit, Myth and Babel(words). From 2014 to 2016 she performed as a singer in Torobaka by Akram Khan and Israel Galván.
