Eli Cohen
Eli Cohen is a Berlin-based freelance dancer and performer. Born in Spain in 1990, she grew up in Israel and moved to Berlin in 2013. She works with various choreographers such as Marina Mascarell, Moritz Majce and Sandra Man, Roberto Zappala (Compagnia Zappala' Danza), Or Marin (Or & Oran dance theater company), Ofir Yudilevitch, Moritz Ostruchnajk a.o. In 2020 Eli was part of the production 24 Images per second by the Swiss director Boris Nikitin, co-produced by Kasserne Basel, Gessnerallee and Wiener Festwochen. That year she also performed in Bibliomaniacs, by Belgium-based choreographer Lisi Estaras, co-produced by Dorky Park Berlin. In 2021 Eli takes part in safe&sound, a new production by Berlin-based choreographer Lee Méir, produced by Hebbel am Ufer Berlin, a new creation by Marina Mascarell co-produced by Mercat de les Flors and a new creation by Sommer Ulrickson. In that same year she also joined Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui’s Eastman to dance in Faun, part of 4D+, alongside Daisy Phillips. Eli’s artistic path began at the Bustan school of Arts, combining dance, theater and trapeze practices followed by further studies in the Sadna in Kibbutz Ga'aton. Between 2011 and 2013 Eli was part of the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company under the artistic direction of Rami Be’er. Since 2015 Eli is a certified yoga teacher.
