Anna Senognoeva
Anna (Anya) Senognoeva was born in Russia and studied at the dance department of the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp. During her studies, she developed her improvisational skills under the impetus of Agostina d'Alessandro, and she was hired as an intern by Ultima Vez / Wim Vandekeybus, performing FEAR NOT. Later she worked with Ricardo Ambrozio.
After her studies, she worked internationally with different choreographers such as Gregory Maqoma / Companhia Instável, Jean-Guillaume Weis, Joost Vrouenraets for his piece Pandora, Eastman / Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui for Les Indes galantes and Babel(words) (co-directed by Damien Jalet), Barjo & Cie in Brussels, and Youri De Gussem / Zemiata.
While working as a freelancer, she teaches ballet, different workshops, repertory and partnering. Anna collaborates with musicians such as Sebastian Gramss and Colour Collective, creating her own work Cello and a reader, an exploration of her developing artistic vision.
She has been creating and performing her outdoor solo Sur le Chemin, which she recently toured to The Bentway in Toronto.
