Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui was awarded the title of Commander on May 2^nd, after the premiere of his new show Boléro at the Paris Opera. Marina Abramović and Damien Jalet with whom he created this piece, received the title of Commander and Knight (Chevalier) respectively. The purpose of  L’Ordre des Arts et de Lettres is the recognition of significant contributions to the arts, literature, or the propagation of these fields.
