Samy Bishai
Growing up in Egypt, Samy Bishai studied classical violin under Lisette Meguerditchian (Dir., La Conservatoire de Musique d’Alexandrie) and G.I. Beridze (Dir., Cairo Opera). He relocated to London in 1999, where he further studied jazz and other improvisational non-classical disciplines, resulting in a richly varied career, performing and recording around the world with numerous artists including Natacha Atlas, Shakira, Didier Lockwood, Nitin Sawhney, Julian Joseph, Tom Jones, Brian Eno, English National Opera, Terry Hall and Gwen Stefani, amongst many others. Virtuosic performance, however, is only one of his highly sought-after skills, alongside composition, arrangement and orchestration, sound design, programming and production.
